Tap to Pay turns your phone into a card reader. Your customer taps their contactless card, phone, or smartwatch against your phone, and the payment goes through. No card machine, no dongle, nothing extra to buy.
No. Tap to Pay uses the phone you already have. If you've got a supported iPhone or Android phone, you can get set up in minutes. Nothing to order, nothing to plug in, nothing to charge overnight.
Your phone needs NFC, which most modern smartphones have built in. On iPhone: iPhone XS or later, running iOS 19 or later, with a screen lock passcode. On Android: Android 12 or later with the latest security updates, built-in NFC, a screen lock passcode, and a Google-certified device. Not every Android phone with NFC qualifies. Two ways. From the Tap to Pay widget on your home screen, pick one of your preset amounts and your customer taps to pay. Or go to In-Person, enter an amount or select a product from your Catalogue, and check that Tap to Pay is selected as a payment method. Either way, hold your phone steady, ask your customer to tap their card, phone, or watch, and wait for the confirmation screen before you move it.

Yes. Payments run on your phone's built-in contactless technology, and your customer's card number is never stored on your phone or in the app.
Yes. Each payment is authorised and processed online in real time, so you need an active connection.
Run through these in order:
- Check that NFC is enabled in your phone's settings.
- Confirm your phone meets our device requirements.
- On iPhone, confirm your device region is set to United Arab Emirates.
- Restart the Nomod app and try again.
- Make sure your customer's card or device supports contactless.
- Hold your phone flat and steady during the tap, and don't move it until the payment is confirmed.
